Mar.14.- Three former Croatian generals, Ante Gotovina, Mladen Markac and Ivan Cermak, went on trial Thursday the 13th before a war-crimes tribunal in The Hague, charged with the persecution and murder of Croatian Serbs in the mid-1990s. Defence lawyers for Ante Gotovina opened their case in the Hague this week by claiming that his campaign against Serb rebels brought peace to the former Yugoslavia.
