Sep.25.- President Ali Abdullah Saleh has won Yemen's presidential election with more than 77% of the vote, Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum (SCER) announced Saturday evening. The SCER said that Saleh got 4,149,673 votes at 77.17 % and the candidate of the Joint Meeting Party, Faisal bin Shamlan, received 21.82% of the vote.

More than 6 million of 9.2 million registered voters cast ballots in the elections, held last Wednesday, the commission said, according to SABA.

The commission also said that the independent candidate Fathi al-Azab got 24,524 votes, Yassin Abduh Saeed, candidate of national council of opposition, got 21,642 votes, and an independent candidate, Ahmed al-Majeedi got 8,324 votes.
