Healthcare now! A surprise letter from Michael Moore - 2007/08/16 17:55 Michael Moore is writing a letter that is being widely distributed to the American people asking for funds to form a Healthcare-NOW coalition. It is true that the United States has a need for political and public action to solve the plight of so many who cannot afford health insurance. And Michael Moore is using his documentary "SiCKO" as the flagship for such a crusade.

Nevertheless, whatever initiatives Michael Moore may take as a result of "SiCKO" have no value because of his biased presentation of the Cuban health system as a model to be followed and admired. The Cuban health care system is in shambles and that is a fact quite visible for whoever wants to see it. He shows some aspects of the Cuban system that appear attractive to the uninformed but truly represents health care that is only available to the privileged nomenclature and to foreigners, not to the Cuban people at large. Not to mention that it has been established under the most cruel and longer reigning dictatorship in Latin American history.

If Mr. Moore is not able to see what is wrong with the Cuban system, much less he’ll be able to promote a better system for the United States.
